Freelance Writers' Database collects certain information about the users of this website. This comprises the information you provide when you sign up, and other information you provide when you fill in forms. We also collect information about the use of this website. This latter includes statistics about visits to a certain page or area of the site, which browser was used, and so forth. Cookies may be used to track your sessions.

Freelance Writers' Database reserves the right to provide statistics in aggregate form to third parties such as advertisers. For example, we might tell advertisers about the number of subscribing members, or the percentage of our members who select "Australia" as their location.

Obviously a certain amount of the information you provide is made available to others through your profile. We have no control over the way others make use of this public data. Members can choose whether to make their email address visible to other members or not.

Freelance Writers' Database will only look at your messages in the event of an allegation of abuse, or when required to do so by a court of law or in the order to assist a criminal investigation. However these messages should not be treated as confidential, as no system can be entirely safe from potential breaches of security. Freelance Writers' Database accepts no responsibility for a leakage of personal details that occurs as a result of a successful attempt to hack into the website or database. We will of course endeavour to prevent this, but you are advised not to enter any details that could be used by others to defraud you. Why do we collect data?

For the most part information is collected in order to improve this website, and to personalise your experience of it. Data is also gathered in order to better target advertisements. Email addresses are collected in order to send members information about their accounts. Email addresses are not currently collected for the purpose of sending newsletters or advertisements.
